In a review I wrote about North African recipes I mentioned that we have a very small variety of lemon. I noted that a Moroccan recipe calling for several preserved lemons in a recipe could be referring to these small lemons. Thanks to food blogger Emily at What's For Lunch? I have a photo to show you.
The small lemons look like they are about 1/4- 1/5 the size of the large ones.
The lemons look very cute. Even in India, we get small lemons which are highly acidic.

What I remember about the Algerian Lemon is the strong smell and acidity. It doesn't taste at all like the American lemon. If you put in the kitchen you can smell it all around. There was a guy in Algiers who became millionaire just by selling only lemonade. You never can get that lemonade in the USA. It's very original. Snapple make me laugh when they say that they make there limonade from the best stuff on earth. The poor ignorants never tried the Algiers one.
Thanks,
